Holy City Art Glass now offers a wonderful opportunity for the glass and jewelry interested student to take this weekend-held (Saturday or Sunday) course in fused glass jewelry making.

Glass Cutting

Each student will be instructed in the art of glass cutting by master glass artisan Tom Stanton.  They will also learn the different types of glass cutters, from the various hand held used for centuries to the modern day glass saws and diamond tip grinders.

Glass Applications

A complete lecture course of the various kinds of glass used in art glass applications will be covered as well as those most important in glass fusing.

Glass Fusing

A full discussion of all aspects of glass fusing will be followed by a hands-on demonstration of fused glass in the rapid fire kiln for immediate observation by all students.

Each student will then make his or her own fused glass pendant and earrings and/or broach.  The class will finish with a demonstration of how to glue findings and, time permitting, a lesson on the application of the bezel.

You will leave having created at least 2 separate pieces of fused dichroic glass jewelry.  You will have also learned these techniques by some of the foremost glass artists in the world.

Classes will be held on Saturdays or Sundays. Due to kiln heating requirements classes must have 8 students registered or we reserve the right to reschedule to another time to allow for a full class count. To schedule your class please email us at scheduleglass at comcast dot net
